How we order listings
Payment does not affect position in the results. We do not sell placement, we have no sponsored or promoted listings, and we take no payment for a higher position from anyone — not from portals, not from agencies, not from our mortgage partner.
Order depends solely on the sort you choose. There are four options, each described below in order of parameter importance.
- Relevance (default): listings with a photo first, then those whose content was most recently updated on the source portal. Those are the only two parameters — there is no third.
- Price ascending and price descending: price alone. Listings with no price go to the end of the list.
- Newest: the date the listing was first published, not the date it last changed. This stops a portal refresh from pushing an old listing to the top.
You can change the sort at any time with the selector above the results. The choice is not remembered between sessions and does not depend on who you are or whether you are signed in.
Our mortgage partner’s advertising is labelled as advertising and shown separately — it is never mixed into search results.
